Time for a move to Boston. InsWeb, an online insurance rate comparison tool, says Massachusetts is the cheapest place for car insurance.

And steer clear of Louisiana, the most expensive place to insure your wheels. Sadly Arizona is not far behind the Bayou State, rated as the ninth most expensive spot.

InsWeb came up with an affordability factor for the 50 states and Washington D.C. by dividing its median household car insurance rate by its median household income. The lower the factor, the less a typical family tends to spend on car insurance relative to its budget.

The 10 most affordable states:

Massachusetts 1.84% New Hampshire 2.23% Vermont 2.39% Minnesota 2.39% Utah 2.43% Nebraska 2.43% Hawaii 2.44% Indiana 2.45% North Carolina 2.52% Virginia 2.53%

The 10 least affordable states:

Louisiana 6.93% Oklahoma 4.94% Missouri 4.86% Washington D.C. 4.77% New York 4.54% West Virginia 4.51% New Mexico 4.37% Kentucky 4.27% Arizona 4.14% Florida 4.10%
